Jumproping11 made a comment and a question, here is his question. I have a question, there are guys in the gym that have the same height as me and arm length and my standing vertical is way higher than theirs but with the step and a run they get up way higher than me, why is that?

So two of those important one are your form and your plyometric ability.

As we discussed in the previous video this week when you do your running vertical you draw on more system to get vertical lift. So two of those important one are your form and your plyometric ability. Your form involves how well you use your muscle and how well you move your body in order to transfer horizontal momentum into upper momentum.

So what you probably find is that your standing vertical is probably quite close to your running vertical. That means you??re not benefiting much from your running vertical at all. Which means you probably have to work on your plyometric reactive ability as well as your form. You are probably running coming towards to a jump stop and jumping up rather than using that momentum to build and transfer it to upward skills, upward momentum.

They are probably using their tendons better, they probably are using their speed and transferring it better. There it is, so, it??s very common for guys who are strong and don??t a lot of repetition and a whole lot of grace in their form. It can be fixed by working on your technique, in fact there??s a free download just below this video and it talks about how to increase your vertical jump form. This particular ebook is free, so you grab it and it will tell you how to use your form and some specific tricks on how to improve your form. Some of those will come overnight or the next 45 minutes but a lot of those will come through repetitions. That??s how you get goods in a skill, that??s how you memorize things, that??s how human bodies work. You just got to repeat and repeat.

You got to practice and you got to give perfect practice meaning you can??t just practice poor form and expect to get better. Practicing poor form reinforces poor form. So you got to practice very carefully, very mindfully until you can do it more effortlessly and then once you can do that it will increase your velocity and you can get better and better.
