Training Challenge – Explosive Pistol Squats

Pistol squats are one of the most challenging body weight exercises you can do and that’s if they are done slow. What about taking them to the next level and doing them explosively? The goal is to be able to do one squat per second. If you are not at that level yet or if you have trouble with these try using a rope in one hand tied to something heavy. This will help with balance and give you a little boost until you have enough strength to do them without help. A good set would be 8 to 10 reps. Do more if you can as long as you are not slowing down. The goal here is a fast explosive contraction. Explosive Pistol Squats
