Workout Products – Powerbeats By Dre – Review

imageYou’re about to find out why I look so pouty.

Music is a great motivator to perform at higher levels in the gym.  Are Powerbeats by Dre the right headphones for your workouts?

I wanted headphones that:
          • Had great sounds.. especially BASS.
          • Didn’t fall off when I was jumping.
          • Had volume and music controller on the cord.
          • Were extremely expensive (ok maybe not).
          • Had noise “isolation” or cancelling.
          • Also had a microphone.
          • Were sweat resistant.
So… I bought Powebeats by Dre “for my wife” for Christmas… they really were for her! At first use I loved the Powerbeats… great sound quality, and delivered on all the above requirements… EXCEPT ONE! The first sweaty session in the gym (in India… where sweat comes very easy)… basically ruined the Powerbeats. The controller stopped working from one sweaty session, now it doesn’t work at all in any iphone or ipod.  It still works in a shuffle or “non controller” enabled device (one that doesn’t support the forward and back function – which is what got sweatiest). I’m disappointed, but to add insult to injury I spent $129.00 on them… MOST of all I’m sad for my wife, because I bought them for her… ;)

SO…  What are some good headphones for workouts?  And if you want some good workout songs.

O think Roy Jones Jr. “Can’t be Touched” is my #1 motivator song.
